Permanent Make-Up: Lips

Beautiful sensual lips are created by adding natural color where needed, achieving instant fullness and definition. Subtle corrections can be made to thin, uneven or unsymmetrical lips and the size and shape can be altered as desired. Facial lines around the mouth are instantly camouflaged and lipstick bleed is eliminated.

Many people request color similar to that of an infant – a very natural soft pinkish/red. Others desire a more dramatic effect. During your consultation you can discuss how much color you desire. The intensity of desired color will determine the amount of touch-ups that will be required. Most lip procedures require at least one touch up.

Of all permanent makeup procedures, lip coloring is more sensitive. However, due to a medical grade Numbing cream and gel which are used liberally throughout the procedure, the client will not feel pain during the actual procedure. There will be a degree of discomfort once the numbing has worn off, which is easily remedied with pain killers.

APPROXIMATE HEALING SCHEDULES – What You Can Expect, Day by Day

Day 1 – Swelling, tender, heavy, thick lipstick look with a reddish brick color effect.
Day 2 –  Slight, swelling, reddish and tender
Day 3 – Less swelling, thicker texture, sore, hot feeling before exfoliation with an orange color.
Day 4 – Exfoliation begins, very chapped lips
Day 5 – Very chapped but almost finished with first chapping stage
Day 6 – A soft, rich color begins to appear
Day 7-13 – Lip color disappears and the “frosty” (2nd chapping) stage begins as a whitish/grayish haze on the lips~ The week after your procedure it may look like alot of the color is gone.  This will slowly return as the inner healing shows through the newly exfoliated skin.  Don’t panic.
Day 14 – Color “blooms” from within more and more each day until day 21 (3 weeks post procedure)~
Day 31 – Healing complete.  The color you see is the color you have.  However, lips remain a bit dry for a month or two.  Use a good lip balm and they will return to normal but with color!
